How to travel from Casablanca to Chefchaouen
There is a distance of about 400 km between Casablanca and Chefchaouen. The road between the two cities is very good. You should expect a driving time of about 5 hours by car. 7 hours by bus.

By bus
About 7 hours, for about 15 Euro, through the CTM line. There is only one direct trip per day, the bus leaves at 1.45pm and arrives in Chefchaouen around 9pm.
CTM tickets can be purchased online, but we strongly recommend that you buy your tickets at the station.
By car
Allow approximately 5 hours driving time.
The most recommended route is to take the motorway from Casablanca to the exit for Asilah (about 10km after passing the exit for Larache), then leave the motorway for the National 2. Take this road to the “Crochet Blanco” point (+30km approx.) then turn right to the crossroads where the La Paloma hotel is located (+15km approx.), then turn right (without entering Tetouan city). This is your final stretch to Chefchaouen (+40km approx).
You can also take the motorway from Casablanca towards Kenitra. As soon as you get to the 230 line you should leave the motorway and take the N1 to the right, towards Sidi Ayache Ouled Slama, then Souk Elarbaa Du Gharb, then towards Ouazzane. From Ouazzane you must continue your way directly to Chefchaouen.
Be aware that with this route you spend more time on the national road.
The price of diesel is 9 Dh (less than 1 Euro) per litre. Petrol is about Dh10.50 (1 Euro).

By train
From the train station in Casablanca, Casa Voyageurs, take the TGV (there is a train every two hours) to Tangier (2 hours drive). For a one-way ticket a second class ticket costs 250 Dhs (22 Euro). 28 Euro for first class.
In Tangier you should look for a bus to Tetouan. Through the CTM line. It is a 45 minute drive from Tangier to Tetouan.
When you arrive in Tetouan, you should take a taxi or car to Chefchaouen. It is about an hour’s drive from Tetouan to Chefchaouen.
By plane
Approximately 3 hours (not including time spent in airports).
Royal Air Maroc offers flights at less than 80 Euro (return) from Casablanca (CMN) to Tetouan (TTU). Flight time: 1 hour 30 minutes.
Then you need to take a taxi or car to Chefchaouen. As mentioned above, it is about an hour’s drive from Tetouan to Chefchaouen.
