How to travel from Tangier to Chefchaouen

It is about 110 km from Tangier to Chefchaouen via Tetouan. The road between the two cities is very good. You should expect a drive of about 3 hours by bus. A little less by taxi or car.

Tangier airport is also the closest airport to Chefchaouen.

By bus

About 3 hours, for no more than 5 Euro, through the CTM line. The first bus leaves at 12:15 and arrives in Chefchaouen at 15:00. The second bus leaves at 15:15 and arrives at 17:45.

CTM tickets can be purchased online, but we strongly recommend that you buy your tickets at the station.

By car

Approximately 2 hours driving time.

Meet on Ben Abi Zaraa Avenue and then head towards Royal Armed Forces Avenue. This is your direct exit to the city of Tetouan.
Before arriving in the city centre of Tetouan, you must take the right hand side of the roundabout where the hotel La Paloma is located, this is your straight line to the city of Chefchaouen.

The price of diesel is Dh9 (less than 1 Euro) per litre. Petrol is about Dh10.50 (1 Euro).
